Marine Studies

This program will enable students to study a range of topics including Marine Biology, Ecology, Oceanography, SCUBA and Boating. It will include theory and practical activities.

This course is ideally suited to students who have a passion for the marine environment, love being outdoors and wish to pursue university studies in Environmental, Biological or Marine Science.

Bush Rangers (Cadets)

The Butler Bush Ranger unit meets regularly at the College, usually for a minimum of two hours a week and is involved in a range of practical activities and training opportunities to develop self-confidence; teamwork and leadership skills and problem solving and critical thinking skills. The Cadets demonstrate a commitment to community service through involvement in nature conservation and other environmental projects.

Some of the activities and conservation projects undertaken through Butler College Bush Rangers include tree planting at Mindarie, rock climbing, scuba diving, developing and building the school garden, adopting and rehabilitating local bush land, camping at Ern Halliday and Jurien Bay, caving, conservation work at Yanchep National ParK, First Aid training, and beach safety & awareness courses.
